Glowing Easter Egg Hunt

Day 4 of a rainy day...I know hiding Easter eggs is a little early, but I was in desperate need of entertaining my little disciples.  Last year, I had a Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt party.  My oldest disciple remembered, so she insisted on doing it again.  So tonight we put on our pajamas, covered the basement windows with a sheet, and got out our flashlights.


We also used glow sticks to put in the eggs.  The kids cracked them while I put them inside each egg.  The larger eggs would have been easier, I'll get those for next time.

      Just letting you know that you can get the glow sticks at the dollar store as well. That is where we always get them for our little projects like this.

    Thanks for the idea! We did this last night and the kids had a blast. We put coins inside the eggs. @Lacie - you can get glow sticks at just about any dollar store or in the Target Dollar Spot.     You can also get the glow sticks at the dollar tree. At least we have them at ours! This is so amazing!!! LOVE IT! DEFINETELY WILL BE DOING IT!!!

    This is an awesome idea. I will be getting more eggs to do this with my kids Saturday night, and then I filled 2000 regular eggs for my family and friends to search for on Easter day.

    Hi Kaylee! Thanks for the great idea! Last night we had a glowing Easter egg party, the girls had a blast!

    Money saving glow stick trick...after you have finished playing with your glow sticks return them to the freeze. You'll have up to 2 weeks of evening glow stick fun :)

    Saw this on pinterest. Did it for my daughter who is almost 2 and the neighborhood kids ages1-7 on Easter night. It was a big hit with all the kids. This will be a new tradition in our family for years to come. Thank you so much for sharing!

    I love this i use glow sticks alot but never thought of this.I decorate for Veterans wish i had seen this before Easter all i did was decorate with baskets and eggs on table thanks for the tip.

      Hey Ginny! Just use whatever eggs you already have. The larger eggs would probably work better, but my "regular" sized ones worked just fine.

    Awesome! I wanted to do a flashlight egg hunt for the block but we got sick so I had to cancel. I toyed with the idea of using glowsticks in the eggs so am thrilled to see your pictures and how cool they look in the dark.

    Wow!!! I know some kids that are gonna flip this summer!!! I will do this little activity when we go camping!!! We buy easter eggs on sale after easter and we often do egg hunt with them to keep them busy when we go camping but with this twist, they are gonna love it!!!!! Thanks for the idea!!!
